The product of two parents who did not finish high school, she was a shy introverted young girl who loved school. Without the resources growing up, she dreamed of traveling. The college seed would be planted in her heart by a high school teacher. By the time she finished graduate school she would come out of her shell and become an elementary school teacher when she would recognized an unmet need. Come and hear the story how she rose from not thinking about attending college to earning multiple degrees, and finally becoming a high-level school administrator. “A woman over 50, this woman wrote a book about the Ukraine called “Sunflowers Beneath the Snow” and she’s donating portions of the proceeds to help those effected by the war. But, as a young girl she wanted to be a brain surgeon, an Olympic ice skater, and an author. Somewhat of a multipotentialite, it wouldn’t be until this educated and confident woman fell into and climbed out of the darkness of abuse that her life would prosper. This is Teri Brown’s story and she is a writer, an author, a self-proclaimed desk-jockey, and another strong and amazing F50Woman.”
“She was the first person from her family to go to college and graduate, but this young girl was broken early after being assaulted as a child. Traumatized, on that innocent but unimaginable day in first grade, her brain was forever changed. As a result, she grew up insecure and struggling for identity, finding her value by getting involved and being seen. Her road was long. But through the fire of “odd eating disorders,” depression, and “suicidal tendencies” she was finally able to dig her brain, one load at a time, out of the “icebox.” This is Sue Bowles story. She’s a hope coach, a survivor, and a thriving and God filled F50Woman.”
“This young girl’s first big dream was to become a navy fighter pilot, her second big dream was to become a police officer like her father, which she finally did. Unbeknownst to her, all of that would ripen her into the leader she is today. And today she’s an HR executive, a pastor, a business owner, a writer, and a public speaker, a leader on every one of her life’s stages; at her job, in her business, spiritually, personally, and professionally. “She was raised by a working dad and stay at home mom. Driven, she was very competitive and got overly involved in everything. As she grew, she wanted to do something to change the world but was unsure what exactly that would be. But her family’s business, like so many others during the economic downturn, would go bust and she would have to reinvent herself from that high powered successful dominant woman she was into the lifestyle designer she is today. “As a young girl she loved sports and hoped that sports would pay her way through college. When she grew that hope was realized but it worked out a little different that she anticipated. “With a family history full of health issues, she decided early that she wanted to be an exercise therapist. She didn’t know what that really was then, but she does now.
